I have had quite a struggle as of
lately with myself for some reason. I would look in the mirror at myself and
wonder, “What is wrong with me?” or “Why am I not good enough?” I felt at times that I wasn’t ever going to
be good enough. I relentlessly work so hard on a daily basis to make sure that
everything is perfect when Mr. gets home. Having dinner on the table and making
sure that everything is in its place in hopes that he might approve of what I
have accomplished. That way I don’t look like a bum that sits around all day. I
am not quite sure why I stress out so much about that but as I look at other
wives' lives, I feel that this might also be an ongoing perception. This preconceived idea that we
have to be perfect in every aspect.
With the world as it is today and
feeling like we need to always be perfect as women, it really bogs you down a
lot! And then I got to thinking....why in the world do I do this to myself?!
Why do women feel that they always need to be a certain size, dress a specific
way, look all cute and pretty all of the time? This is absolutely ridiculous.
Because you know what?!?! WE ARE SPECIAL. We
are no object. We have so many specific qualities and attributes that we can
share with those around us. As hard as it can be, we should focus more on what
qualities we possess, and what we can do to benefit mankind, rather than focusing
so much on the outward appearances of everything we are surrounded by. This is
what makes us beautiful. You feel a lot better about yourself when you forget about yourself are
serve your fellow man. It is something I have definitely learned the hard way
as I had felt that I can’t keep up with all of the ongoing trends, looks and
new updates found on Pinterest, Facebook or any other social media out there. And
also striving so darn hard to be the absolute perfect wife, sister, and
daughter. For goodness sake! We are only HUMAN. We have to learn to realize
that. I hope that all of you women out there realize that YOU are BEAUTIFUL no
matter how you may feel about yourself. Keep your chin up, your head held high
and remember that you have so much to offer. You are loved! I challenge each of us to strive to love and accept ourselves for who we are and then focus on what we can do to help others. Once you focus on the truly important things, everything else will fall into its place.
I have created this printable so that you can have this in your home where you can remember how special you are. Remember that you are of worth and can do great things.
love you kiana. you're an amazing person!
